After returning from their trip, the five students who received the MAD Travel Fund were invited by MAD and DOMUS to give a speech to young students. They not only showed their unique talents through their submitted works but also fully experienced the spiritual temperament of each person through their travel observation perspectives and the emotions expressed in their speeches. These are exactly the young people that the MAD Travel Fund hopes to discover and help.

As of July 8, we have received 172 applications from 57 architecture schools across the country. Most of these applications are from students majoring in architectural design, as well as students from environmental design, lighting design, urban design, structural design, and ancient building protection. This year we saw more diverse and mature applications. However, due to limited funds, we finally selected 5 students as the winners of this year's travel fund as originally planned.

I hope that when they arrive at their respective destinations, they can touch the historical fragments they yearn for and inspire new inspiration in their touch of architecture. Thanks to all applicants, the MAD Travel Fund will continue to support Chinese students' world architecture trips in 2011. Special thanks to VERTU for its full support for the MAD Travel Fund in 2009 and 2010.
