In 2009, Ma Yansong initiated the MAD Travel Fund. In the past seven MAD Travel Funds, a total of 35 college students in China have received MAD Travel Fund funding, embarked on a journey with their own research topics, and shared their academic research results with everyone. In 2017, the MAD Travel Fund was upgraded again and opened to students all over the world for the first time, funding 5 Chinese students and 5 foreign students. MAD also assists students in making appointments with architectural firms they want to visit, or plans to talk with masters active in today's thought, architecture, culture and art circles.
