On March 28, Mississauga Mayor McCallion announced that Ma Yansong, a world-class architect from Beijing MAD Design Office, who has won many awards, and his partners Hayano Yosuke and Dang Qun, defeated more than 600 architects from around the world and won the first prize of the international design competition "Absolute International Architectural Design Competition". MAD's winning bid is a 56-story, dynamic residential skyscraper, which will become a new landmark in Mississauga. Mississauga Mayor McCallion said that the design "turned dreams into reality", and Savato, one of the developers of the project, said that the building was "exciting and brought world-class architectural standards to Mississauga." The entire construction will cost about $130 million and is expected to be put into use in 2009.

The Mississauga new landmark construction project attracted architectural elites from 70 countries and regions and received a total of 92 entries, and MAD's design entered the final six. The jury, composed of 9 internationally renowned architects and planners, unanimously chose MAD's work as the first choice. The city of Mississauga also held a special exhibition, where 6,000 citizens voted for their favorite entries, and MAD's work received the most votes. At the same time, MAD's design was rated by the developer as "the most in line with customer requirements."
