The December issue of RIBA Journal, the magazine of the Royal Institute of British Architects, features a cover story introducing MAD Architects, an exclusive interview with Ma Yansong, and selects MAD's Huangshan Taiping Lake Apartments as the cover of the magazine.

RIBA Journal commented that "MAD' dramatic architectural works are sweeping across China and even the East and the West at a whirlwind speed. Huangshan Taiping Lake Apartment is a new type of residential design that combines local terrain and landscape." Ma Yansong introduced the development history of MAD in the interview and elaborated on his vision of the development direction of architecture after modernism: contemporary architecture should go beyond the level of focusing only on form and function, inject emotions and ultimately return to people and nature.

RIBA Journal was founded in 1893 by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA for short). It mainly publishes papers on civil, industrial, agricultural building design, urban and rural regional planning, architectural theory and architectural history. It is currently the world's two most well-known architectural associations along with the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
