Ma Yansong attended Columbia University GSAPP and gave a lecture titled "MAD in China". Mark Wigley, Dean of Columbia University's School of Architecture, personally introduced Ma Yansong and MAD before the lecture. The lecture was held in the Eli Holm Wood Auditorium and lasted for an hour and a half with an audience of more than 300 people. The next day, Ma Yansong gave a speech at the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
