Light, whether in nature or architecture, always inspires vitality. The lighting piece "Pingtan," created through collaboration between MAD and Artemide, reinterprets MAD’s iconic design for the Pingtan Art Museum. The Pingtan Art Museum, set in an expansive water-based landscape, evokes a lasting connection with the earth—its sea, beach, oasis, and gentle slopes blend into a space that seemingly defies clear boundaries, harmonizing with distant mountains in the background. In this work, MAD attempts to transform the grand scale of the landscape into a smaller, intimate experience. The organic and natural design reimagines the emotional value nature brings to a space. The lighting of "Pingtan" gradually fades and brightens, abstract yet poetic, and even within an indoor setting, it evokes the sensory experience of being immersed in nature.
