Ma Yansong was awarded the 2023 Mexican National Architecture Prize and delivered a keynote speech at the Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros in Mexico City.

KALMANANI means "master of architecture" in the ancient Mexican civilization - Aztec civilization. The KALMANANI National Architecture Award was established in 2009 to honor architects who have made great contributions to the architectural community, whose works have stood the test of time and improved people's lifestyles. Architects who have previously won this honor include Toyo Ito, Shigeru Ban, Alvaro Siza, Steven Holl, Daniel Libeskind, Sou Fujimoto, SANAA, etc.
