The residential design in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, reflects MAD’s core design concept: creating a living environment that integrates nature and community in a high-density city. The 18 residential units of the “Hill Courtyard” are located above the street-facing commercial space on the ground floor. The undulating three-dimensional skyline is like the continuous mountains near Los Angeles, forming a small hill in the center of the city. The crystal clear pitched roof sky villa and the umbrella-shaped trees in the air form a unique landmark and become part of the rich neighborhood scenery of Wilshire Avenue.

Located in Beijing CBD, the entire facade of the Conrad Beijing Hotel is like a neuron tissue, conducting and responding to the column grid structure, and giving the building new vitality in the gradual change, making it appear dynamic in the upward process. MAD's design introduces a force similar to natural growth into Beijing, dissolving the dominance of efficiency and technology.
