Unlike the forceful, boxy high-rise buildings of modernism, the "Monroe Tower" in Mississauga, Canada, expresses respect for nature through its upward spiraling, organic form. After its completion, its graceful lines earned it the nickname "Marilyn Monroe Tower" from residents. Ma Yansong said, "I believe that both architectural and product design are about expressing human feelings. People tend to focus on important visual effects, but the emotional experience is equally important. And door handles are very representative. It is the first object you touch before entering a new space, so I designed it with the same flowing, rhythmic natural lines as the building. This time, you can touch Marilyn." The door handle designed by MAD features smooth, elegant lines, and when used, the palm fits naturally against the handle's curved surface, creating an ergonomic interaction between the two.
Olivari, an Italian brand specializing in door hardware design, has previously collaborated with renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, and Jean Nouvel, bringing architectural inspiration into product design.
