HyperloopTT (Hyperloop Transportation Technologies) invited MAD to design the tunnel, station and bridge tower system for the Hyperloop earlier. In addition to meeting the functional requirements, the design also explores how the design can respond to several urban issues that HyperloopTT and MAD are concerned about: overcrowding, traffic congestion and pollution. Through this experimental design, MAD hopes to establish a more three-dimensional connection between people and the environment through Hyperloop, and promote more diverse impacts on people in an organic and energy-saving way.

能源自足
The train tunnel designed by MAD seems to be a time-space tunnel leading to an unknown space, and the reflective fiberglass on the surface makes it more futuristic. MAD envisions using solar and wind energy as the main energy sources for tunnels, stations and bridge tower systems to achieve energy self-sufficiency. Bendable solar panels are laid on the tops of stations and bridge towers to achieve solar power generation and storage. In some natural scenes with conditions, a bladeless wind power generation group is set up near the MAD station to convert wind energy into electricity. At the same time, LED light panels powered by solar energy are installed inside and outside the tunnel, becoming a display screen for information interconnection in the station.

Vertical Station
In MAD’s design, the station and tunnel system will be lifted above the ground as a whole, reducing the ground area, avoiding land competition with other ground transportation, and achieving efficient coexistence and integration of different modes of transportation.

“"Urban Farm"
Inside the bridge tower, which is at least 6 meters high, MAD has implanted a new type of "vertical farm" at the base of the bridge tower. This new type of farm implements soilless cultivation, which is free from the dependence of plants on the land. LED light, which is powered by solar energy, provides the necessary light for plant irrigation.

The cooperation between MAD and HyperloopTT began with the Hyperloop program for the Dubai Expo 2020. HyperloopTT will soon build Hyperloop test tracks in Hamburg Port, Germany and Toulouse, France.
