As construction progresses, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles is slowly taking shape.
Above the Los Angeles Exposition Park, four tower cranes are busy with construction work, and the building's steel frame structure is rising from the ground.

In 2014, MAD Architects won the design rights for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in an international design competition. This 11-acre museum is envisioned as a transcendent entity, floating above the city like a cloud, while also acting like a canopy that envelops the park beneath, exploring the relationship between nature and the urban environment.

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is not just composed of exhibition spaces but also includes a cinema, cafes, restaurants, and a library. The museum's roof will be transformed into an expansive landscape space, integrating the building with the surrounding greenery. Visitors will be able to ascend to the rooftop terrace to enjoy the stunning views of Los Angeles, offering a new perspective on the museum's architecture.
This five-story museum is a personal project of American film art master George Lucas. Once completed, it will showcase Lucas's extensive narrative art collection, including a variety of movie memorabilia and more than 10,000 pieces of art related to films, such as comics, illustrations, paintings, photography, moving images, sculptures, and more.
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, a world-class landmark, is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. This will be MAD's first museum project completed in the United States.
